Today began with a blanket of fog and a cold breeze—a surprising contrast to the strong sun we experienced on January 31st. This has been the shortest winter period I can recall. By February 1st, the sun had already begun to dismiss any notion of winter lingering for much longer. Still, I hope we can savor the last few days of winter before it fades away completely.
One day we went to Cue Cinemas to watch Sonic, scheduled for 2.30 pm. But when we reached there, we were told the cinema is empty with zero bookings and therefore the screening will be cancelled unless two more bookings come in. It was 2.30 and it didn’t look like there's going to be anyone coming this way so we headed to Packages Mall. But when we reached there, the only movie that was running at the time was Gladiator 2 and some Punjabi movie. When I reached the ticket counter to book tickets for Gladiator, to my surprise, it was cancelled as well due to no show. Such is the state of Pakistani cinemas these days.

I randomly stumbled upon this really old interview of Dr. Zakir Naik, sitting next to celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan among others. He said something very beautiful in response to being asked to define a radical muslim,
Muslim is a person who submits his will to God. So you cannot say liberal muslim or a moderate muslim. You can say practicing muslim, partially practicing and non-practicing muslim. That’s more correct.
- Dr. Zakir Naik
What a perfect answer to a very common misconception (read agenda) that muslims can be either conservative or liberal.

January started off fast, with the first 15 days slipping away in no time. In contrast, the second half felt unusually long - almost like an entirely new month. I published a couple of videos this month on my YouTube but I think this is something all human beings should watch, and then follow:
This is it for this month’s Smile Gazette. This is the month to prepare ourselves for Ramadan. I hope you guys have a great month!!
